About EHUG: 2020 Ebix Health User Group (EHUG) Conference

The Ebix Health User Group (EHUG) provides a forum that empowers our users through the free exchange of ideas, assisting users in maximizing the value and productivity of their LuminX application. Our primary objectives are:

To establish a forum for LuminX users to share knowledge and ideas about the Ebix Health system
To inform all users about the status of Ebix Health activities, new features, and enhancements
To relate to Ebix Health any common problems, concerns, and suggestions brought forth by users
To facilitate the sharing of information between users
To promote the further application of LuminX among users and non-users
To support enhancements that will improve LuminX

The annual conference and EHUG Shared Enhancement Process are the primary methods of accomplishing these goals.

One thing that makes the EHUG community so unique is the strong tradition of invaluable mutual support. Though we are often competitors, EHUG members recognize that cooperation around shared needs and principals is essential to our success.

The group is governed by a volunteer Executive Committee — elected from the membership at large. One voting member of the Executive Committee is an Ebix Health staff member appointed by Ebix Health. Each member company is eligible to cast one vote if they are in attendance at the annual business meeting. The Executive Committee welcomes the input of all members and encourages individuals to seek election to the committee.

Although the user group was officially incorporated in 2003, our rich traditions began in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when the need to bring LuminX users together was recognized, and dedicated volunteer leaders brought the first groups together. As we evolve to meet the changing demands of LuminX users, we strive to embody the energetic and cooperative spirit of the early leadership.

We remain committed to making sure that substance and value are the hallmarks of the user group, and are always ready to welcome new members.

LaCombe joined CHP in 2016, a Springfield, MA-based Berkshire Hathaway company, to provide leadership for their Information Technology (IT) function. Prior to joining CHP, he held IT leadership positions at ProHealth Physicians and Health New England, where he was responsible for IT strategy, systems development, data center operations, and information security, for all internal and external systems. He began his career at Andersen Consulting where he worked with numerous clients, across industries, on systems integration projects. He earned both his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and Master of Business Administration degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has been a member of the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium’s CIO Forum and an executive leader for the regional branch of the American Heart Association. He enjoys many fitness activities, especially cycling and running.

Clark began her career in the health insurance industry over 35 years ago. The last 33 years have been working in the self-insurance market, with 24 years of that time working for IMA. Clark has been the claims manager at IMA approximately five years, and her duties include overseeing the claims, auditing, medical management, and plan building departments. She has extensive knowledge of the LuminX system and programs, especially in the areas of claims processing, voids, refunds, IVR, auditing, and plan building. Her knowledge has been helpful in the training of new employees, problem solving, and in setting-up new programs within the LuminX system.

Johnson began his career in the insurance industry in 2000 with limited benefits TPA Strategic Resource Company (SRC) in Columbia, SC. SRC was acquired in 2005 by Aetna, and he now works for a division, Aetna Voluntary. In his 17 years, he has worked in a variety of roles acquiring solid knowledge of both the TPA and carrier business: claims management, operations management, finance, and information systems - where he currently holds the role of project lead. Over the past 12 years, SRC/Aetna Voluntary has utilized LuminX, and Johnson has become the subject matter expert, assisting all areas of the business and IT with issues and enhancements related to LuminX.

Natalie has over thirty years of experience in software development and has been closely involved in the development of LuminX from the very beginning. After working as a programmer on the initial version of the product, Natalie played a variety of roles spanning the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) before accepting her current position as manager of Application Design and Product Development. Natalie holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Point Park University, and regularly participates in leadership conferences.

Zita has been with Cypress Benefit Administrators (now LUCENT HEALTH) since 2007. LUCENT HEALTH is a data driven, member focused health solutions company with offices nationwide. Zita is located in the Appleton, Wisconsin, office and manages the following areas: Clams Administration, Group Administration, Customer Service, Training, and Quality Assurance. Zita has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. Zita is an avid reader who enjoys tennis and spending time with her family. Zita earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
